    The Story of Briar

In the closing days of Briar’s life, she tells the story of her life to her only living relative, her grandson, Russell. A history of Russell’s family is unfolded before him, which he never saw coming. These revelations depict the poverty of Briar’s family when they were young. The criticism she faced as being a Tom Boy. The hardships of the Great Depression, an approaching war, a rough life growing up on a farm, and family tragedies all encompass the life of Briar.
